The Gen-Z Fashion Trends of 2021

As 2021 is coming to an end, here’s a review of the 2021 fashion trends of Gen-Z

In 2021 87.6% of Gen-Z shopped online, but what was really filling up their carts?

For most people from Gen-Z, oversized t-shirts, cropped tops, ripped jeans, shirts with graphic print, and solid-colored t-shirts were the big styles and filled up most of our closets. For Tatum Moore, it was “ripped jeans with a t-shirt”. In past years the 80’s styles were a big hit, but from early 2021 clothing brands have started to put a 21st-century twist to the 90’s clothing style.

The Covid-19 pandemic brought us all from learning in-person to learning from the comfort of our own bedrooms. It was not all bad though. It gave us the opportunity to wear our pajamas all day! If you enjoyed casual comfy, cotton shorts, joggers, and t-shirts would have been a great outfit choice for you. Do you like stylish comfort? Then tie-dye sweatshirts, cropped sweatshirts, and leggings remain a top choice.

If you are the active athletic type, you might be interested in clothes that are easy to run around in. If so, exercise pants and a classic t-shirt could be a good choice for you. Like a little cozier? Sweatshirts and sweatpants are great for people who like outfits that can double as cozy and activewear.

Shoes…one of the most, or maybe the most challenging things to avoid buying. But what were the shoes that we could not resist getting our hands on in 2021? For most Gen-Zs Nike Air Force 1’s remain a top fashion choice. Converse and Vans were also big hits this past year, as well as Air Jordans.

It’s not yet clear what the top Gen-Z fashion trends will be for the upcoming year, but you might want to hold off emptying your closet. Some of these styles might remain a big hit in 2022.
